Questions, or a number that doesn't look right? Email support@stickermint.com with your store's .myshopify.com address and the material or variant. We reply within one business day.
Getting started
- Settings: check the material location (your primary location to start). Material-tracked variants get their stock written there.
- Materials → Add a material: name, unit (yd, m, cm, ft, in, g, kg, oz, lb, ml, l or pc), what you have on hand and an optional reorder point.
- Products: enter how much material one unit uses, click Choose variants… and pick them. The app turns on Shopify stock tracking if needed, stocks them at the material location and writes their stock within seconds.
- Sell. Every order moves the material, and every variant that uses it gets its new number.
How the numbers work
- Available material = on hand − held for unpaid orders − reserved for production.
- A variant can sell floor(available ÷ (usage × (1 + waste %))); a kit (several materials, up to 20) takes the lowest of them.
- Placed order → material held. Paid → used (on hand goes down). Cancelled before payment → released. Refund with restock, or units removed by an order edit → returned. Refund without restock → stays used.
- Orders placed before a variant got its recipe never use material.
- Quantities have up to 3 decimals; returns give back exactly what an order used.
Keeping Shopify in sync
- Orders reach the app within seconds through Shopify's order notifications; an hourly check also reads every changed order, so a missed notification never leaves material wrong. (Until Shopify enables the app's order notifications, the hourly check does this alone.)
- Writes use compare-and-swap: if a sale lands in the same moment, the app re-reads and recomputes instead of overwriting it.
- A sale whose order hasn't reached the app yet is kept off the variant ("waiting for an order"), so nothing sells twice. If no order explains a lower number within 30 minutes, the app restores the material value, or lists it on the Sync page for you to restore or count as material used (Settings).
- A number raised in Shopify for a material-tracked variant is reset at the next check: change the material instead.
- Stop tracking a variant (Products) or uninstall the app and Shopify keeps the last number; nothing else changes.
Low-material emails
- When a material reaches its reorder point, one email lists every low material (up to 5 recipients, or the store's contact email).
- A material alerts again only after it went back above its reorder point. If email is briefly unavailable, emails wait in a queue and go out automatically.

Privacy
See our privacy policy and security policy. In short: the app reads order line items and quantities without customer details, and changes only the stock of the variants you give a recipe. Made by Mint Labs.
