Mint Raw Material Inventory is a Shopify app made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). It keeps a merchant's raw material stock and sets the Shopify stock of the products made from it. This policy explains what the app handles, why, and when it's deleted.

The short version

  • The app reads order line items (which variant, how many), payment, cancel and refund status, and the location an order was assigned to. It never reads customer names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses.
  • It changes only the stock (available quantity) of the variants the merchant gives a material recipe, and turns on stock tracking for them if needed.
  • The only email addresses it keeps are the staff addresses the merchant enters for low-material alerts and the store's contact email.
  • We never sell or share data, use it for advertising, or combine it across stores. The app adds nothing to the storefront and sets no cookies there.

Information the app holds

InformationWhy
Store domain and a Shopify access tokenTo read orders and products and write the stock of material-tracked variants.
Store name, contact email, time zone, location namesSender name, reply-to and default recipient of alert emails; dates in the store's time; which location stock is written at.
Materials, their stock per location, recipes, and the variants that use them (titles, SKU, IDs)The merchant's own data: computing how many units can be sold.
Orders with a material-tracked line: order ID and number (e.g. #1042), dates, paid/cancelled state, line item IDs, variant, quantities, assigned location, refund IDsHolding, using and returning the right amount of material exactly once per change. No customer information is read or stored.
The ledger: every material stock change with its reason and reference (order number, note typed by staff)The merchant's audit trail.
Settings and alert recipients (staff email addresses); a log of alert emailsSending the alerts the merchant set up; retrying failed ones.
Plan (Free, Pro or Plus) and its datesRead from Shopify to decide which features apply. Payments are handled entirely by Shopify.

Customer data

The app reads order information with the order's customer fields left out: it asks Shopify only for line items, quantities, statuses, refunds and locations, and its order notifications are trimmed to IDs. It holds no names, emails, phone numbers or addresses of customers. Shopify's customer privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact) are acknowledged; there is no customer information to return or delete. When a store is deleted (shop/redact, sent 48 hours after a merchant uninstalls) we permanently delete everything we hold for it.

Alerts

Low-material emails are sent through Cloudflare Email Service from no-reply@mail.stickermint.com to the addresses the merchant entered, with the store's contact email as reply-to. They contain material names and quantities only. Every email has a link that removes that address. We don't track opens or clicks.

Where data is processed and how it's protected

The app runs on Cloudflare (hosting, database, queue and email) and connects to Shopify's APIs. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is limited to Mint Labs staff who need it to provide support. We use no analytics or trackers. See our security policy.

Retention

  • Order records (IDs and quantities): 400 days; the ledger: 3 years (or until the store is deleted).
  • Alert history and the email log: 90 days. Webhook delivery IDs (to ignore duplicates): 7 days.
  • Access tokens: deleted when the app is uninstalled. Everything else: deleted when Shopify sends the store deletion request 48 hours later.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct or delete information about you. Merchants and staff who receive alerts can contact us directly, and we respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, notify merchants in the app.
