● Raw material inventory for makers

Sell by the yard, the gram or the kit, from one pool of material.

Mint Raw Material Inventory keeps your materials (fabric, coffee, wax, yarn, blanks) and computes how many of each product you can sell from them, then writes that number to Shopify as orders come in.

Features

Material stock that stays right

Set up a material and a recipe in a few minutes; the app does the arithmetic on every order.

One pool
Many products, one material

A bolt of fabric sold by the yard, as a sample swatch, in a kit and as a finished tote. Every variant's stock is computed from the same material, so you never sell more than you have.

Recipes
Usage per unit, kits included

Each variant says how much material one unit uses. A kit can use several materials; its stock is set by the scarcest one.

Orders
Held, used, returned

Placed orders hold material, paid orders use it, cancels and restocked refunds give it back, order edits are followed. Duplicates and late deliveries change nothing twice.

Production
Waste % and reserved stock

Add the offcut loss per material, and set material aside for a production run so it isn't sold in the meantime.

Ledger
Every change, with its reason

Received, counted, written off, reserved, used by order #1042, returned: the full history of each material, filterable and exportable.

Safe sync
Writes that don't clobber

Quantities are written with compare-and-swap, so a sale in the same second is never overwritten, and an hourly check fixes anything changed outside the app.

How it works

Three steps

Nothing to change in your theme.

Add a material

Name, unit and what you have on hand, plus a reorder point if you want a heads-up.

Give variants a recipe

"One tote uses 1 yd", "a sample uses 0.125 yd". Pick the variants in Shopify's product picker.

Sell

Every order moves the material, and every variant that shares it gets its new number in Shopify.

Pricing

Simple monthly plans

FAQ

Questions makers ask

Which products does the app change?

Only the variants you give a recipe. Their Shopify stock (available) at your material location is set from the material. Everything else in your store is never touched, and if you remove the app, Shopify keeps the last numbers.

How is a variant's stock calculated?

Available material ÷ (usage per unit × (1 + waste %)), rounded down, the lowest across the recipe's materials. Available material = on hand − held for unpaid orders − reserved for production.

When does material go down?

A placed order holds the material at once (so other variants can't sell it); payment turns that into material used. Cancelling an unpaid order releases it; a refund with restock returns it; a refund without restock keeps it used.

What if someone edits the stock in Shopify?

The app owns the variants you track. A number raised in Shopify is reset (it could sell material you don't have). A number lowered with no order to explain it is restored after 30 minutes, or listed for you to decide, as you prefer.

Can I use decimals and my own units?

Yes: yards, metres, centimetres, feet, inches, grams, kilograms, ounces, pounds, millilitres, litres or pieces, with up to three decimals.

Does it see customer data?

No customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses. The app reads order line items, quantities and payment/refund status only, and keeps order numbers in the ledger.
